Express Bar is a one-stop-shop for full english breakfasts, cracking cocktails, juicy burgers and rock’n’roll.
Started by a trio of anglais in 2005, their dream was to combine decent wine and fresh produce, with creative cuisine and the right music (jazz, soul, rock).
There are 8 different burgers on the menu, préparés maison with fries and coleslaw to boot. But the best news for those who miss the simplicity of anglo ‘brunch’, is the ability to order a full english sans-bullshit for €13.50.
For those who prefer the full (French) brunch experience with hot drink/cold drink/toast/main/sweets, on weekends there is that too. To be washed down with a Spritz or a Bloody Mary for €6 a piece.
Basically there is something for everyone at this very much underrated address. A solid cocktail list, friendly service and delicious unpretentious food.
And a nice long zinc comptoir to remind us that despite the smiles, we are still actually in Paris.
Impress fellow hipsters: Go for happy hour between 18 – 20hr, when pints of St Omer are €4 and all cocktails are €6
