Strada Café is a tiny respite from the heaving neighbouring Marais. Where one can find freshly squeezed juices, real coffee, healthy salads and occasionally, even coronation chicken sandwiches.
The owner is said to be Swedish, but whatever her nationality she seems to have a knack for taking the best of the world’s café food and making it live harmoniously together on a menu.
Salad of tomatoes and clementine inspired by Syracuse, a traditional greek salad with some toasted pita, poached eggs with smoked salmon sandwiches.
The same approach extends to the decor, making a seemingly unrelated collection of items work to create a decidedly cosy space, whilst still Scandanavianly sparse. The coffee is a welcome addition to the quartier Beaubourg.
Impress fellow hipsters: coffee beans are being sourced from l’Arbre de Café, who recently opened a boutique on Rue du Nil, joining Frenchie and Terroirs d’Avenir
