Le Baron Rouge is a quintessentially Parisian wine bar and when the season is right, a great place for Oysters.
It’s particularly popular on Sunday afternoons despite only opening until 4pm, when locals descend to share generous plates of charcuterie, cheeses and indulge in the large selection of wines.
The whole place is no frills – which extends to the stainless steel squat toilet – but the produce is good, the prices right and the oysters generally excellent. During the holidays cases of oysters can be ordered to go.
Impress fellow hipsters: grab an empty wine bottle for €0.50 and fill up inexpensive wines from the barrel. The bottles are reusable for subsequent visits.
