Piscine Georges Hermant is a rare 50m open air pool not too far from the Parc des Buttes Chaumont.
There is one pool for kids and one for grown ups, with lanes for serious swimmers and those content to flit about splashing people.
The usual speedo/swimming cap/shower rules apply, but there is plenty of room to sunbake by the pool (no bonnet necessary) or even in the little garden.
At €3 for entry – without any time limit like many Paris pools – it is one of the cheapest places to while away a summer day.
Impress fellow hipsters: take a party dress and wander into the Parc des Buttes Chaumont for an apéro at Rosa Bonheur, seemingly the only beer garden in the whole of Paris.
